Bocconi University

Bocconi University, located in the heart of Milan, Italy, is well-known for its leading role in the modernization of Italy, both socially and economically. O’Neill undergraduate students may apply to participate in this semester exchange. Bocconi University is considered one of Europe's leading educational institutions and is consistently well-ranked. Bocconi offers programs in Economics, Management, Finance, Politics & Policy Analysis, Data Science and Law.

Each semester, the O'Neill School can send a cohort of one undergraduate and one graduate student to Bocconi on this exchange. Keep this in mind as you are applying, as these spots can become quite competitive.

23/24 Academic Calendar

You will select your courses based on your interests and degree needs. Numerous courses will be offered in English on a variety of topics. Topics include: accounting, decision science, economics, finance, law, marketing, management, social and political science, and computing science. Students will take the equivalent of 15 IU credits during their semester in Milan. 

You can view course offerings from a prior semester as an example of coursework available at Bocconi University. Although course offerings are similar from year to year, all courses are subject to change. Please work with your concentration advisor to determine which courses best fit your academic plan.

*30xxx codes refer to undergraduate courses

 

You may apply if you:

  • are an admitted O'Neill major or minor
  • have at least a 3.0 cumulative and O'Neill GPA; 3.2 GPA preferred

While studying at Bocconi University, you can choose between university and private housing options.

If you choose to utilize university housing options, a single apartment or individual room can be leased based on your preference. All of the rooms are fully furnished and internet access is available for an additional monthly fee. Apartments come with a personal bathroom and a kitchenette. You will have access to washers and dryers which are located in each housing complex, as well several cafeterias and cafes available on campus.

University Housing Application Information

You will pay your normal tuition rate at Indiana University through your bursar account (no tuition will be paid to Bocconi). You will be responsible for covering your own overseas expenses including airfare, food, and housing.

Merit-based and need-based scholarships are available for students participating in O'Neill exchanges.

O'Neill scholarship deadlines are the same as the program application deadlines. For spring semester exchanges, the deadline is September 1. For fall semester exchanges, the deadline is February 1.
