Spring Semester (Term 3 & Term 4 at Delft): February - Mid June
Academic Calendar
Interested students should plan early for this exchange program. MSES students usually study in Delft during their second year. Joint degree MPA/MSES students may find their fifth semester as most suitable for study in Delft.
You should prepare to take a minimum of four classes, equating to 12 IU credits during your semester at the TU-Delft. Two European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits are equal to one IU credit, requiring students to enroll in a minimum of 24 ECTS credits throughout the semester. Numerous courses will be offered each semester in English in a variety of topics.
Any student wishing to participate in the TU-Delft exchange will need to consult with Professor Adam Ward to complete a course plan.
Additional Program Information
Delft University of Technology provides a variety of living options both on- and off-campus. TU-Delft entered into an alliance with DUWO, an independent housing corporation in the west of the Netherlands which specializes in student accommodations. You can also find accommodations yourself, but be aware that it is difficult to find open housing in Delft. Delft is a municipality in the southern Netherlands, near the Hague. Delft has a population of 100,000 and is known for its historic downtown.
You will pay your normal tuition rate at Indiana University through your bursar account (no tuition will be paid to Tu-Delft). You will be responsible for covering your own overseas expenses including airfare, food, and housing. Roughly $1,200 dollars a month should cover food, housing, fun, study materials, and incidentals. Your biggest variable will be housing.
